Laser Ophthalmoscopy Instrumentation

Recent advancements in light sources, instrumentation and measurement techniques have revolutionized examination and treatment of human eyes. Physical Sciences Inc. has been on the forefront of developing and applying these technologies and incorporating them into new products to improve public health. The latest ophthalmic instrumentation takes advantage of the novel characteristics of semiconductor light sources and optical design to enable new measurement techniques such as laser scanning microscopy, optical coherence tomography and adaptive optics to diagnose diseases of the cornea and retina. We invent new instrumentation combining multiple measurement modalities to provide clinicians with advanced tools for imaging human and small animal eyes with a high degree of spatial sensitivity, enabling early detection of glaucoma, macular degeneration and other eye diseases. Our R&D and product development focus captures opportunities in the rapidly growing multimodal adaptive optics imaging market leading to clinical translation through our academic and medical collaborators. Our product portfolio consists of:
- Compact Adaptive Optics Retinal Imager (CAORI)
- Multi-modal Adaptive Optics Retinal Imager (MAORI)
- Multi-modal Adaptive Optics Small animal Imager (MAOSI)
- Optical Coherence Tomography Eye Imager
