Structural Materials Scientist/Engineer
Physical Sciences Inc., located just north of Boston in Andover, is looking for a person with a record of technical leadership in the area of advanced structural materials and composites to initiate new research programs while being a strong contributor to existing programs. A successful candidate must be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers, have high written and spoken English language proficiency, and have excellent analytical skills.
Candidates with a demonstrated record of accomplishment in the development of metals, ceramics and composites used in advanced products such as high speed vehicle combustion flow paths or vehicle structure will be strongly considered. A demonstrated working knowledge of composite processing, additive manufacturing, and unique high temperature material structures is desired. Prior experience in the management of advanced production for aerospace or commercial applications is also strongly valued.
Candidates should have a strong record managing the development or production of advanced composites or structural materials under strict quality control. Proof of concept through the scale-up of these systems to the pilot scale is considered very important.
A successful history of obtaining research funding through all three phases of the Small Business Innovation Research Program is considered a good indicator of future success within the organization. A PhD in a field related to composites fabrication with 10+ years of work experience is desirable.
